Team Coaching

I work with teams to create cohesion and collective success.

Leadership teams play a significant role in achieving results.

If your organisation is looking for a significant return on investment, leadership team coaching is a hothouse of possibilities.

Leadership teams are a common way to for organisations to operationalise management.

Yet leadership teams can struggle to collaborate and know how best to work together. Now more than ever, organisations hold significant legal responsibility to provide a workplace that is free of psychological hazards. Leaders who lack the necessary skills can result in teams receiving inadequate management and supervision. It is critical to invest in the continuous growth and development of your leaders.

When leadership teams come together and work effectively towards achieving collective results, the impact is felt across the organisation. High performing leadership teams can set and hold high expectations, celebrate success, and motivate their teams to work together to achieve collective team goals. But leadership teams need to be made up of skilled and competent leaders.

“Since commencing leadership coaching with Belinda, I can see the outcomes of the leadership team’s capacity building through greater cohesion, confidence, trust, and productivity.

Belinda was able to support the team to move through a couple of storming phases which through the trust the team had developed assisted us to address the challenges as they arose and remain a productive team with little impact to our clients.

It has seen a healthy culture maintained in the unit despite changes to our leadership team.”

— Senior Manager, Government Sector

Co-designed capacity building across your team

Together, we will co-design a transformation plan for your team, which will:

  • Identify and amplify leadership strengths across your team

  • Find and build on the teams areas of development

  • Develop new leadership skills

  • Build the collective toolkit so your leadership team has strategies to navigate leadership challenges

  • Create a productive and positive workplace culture

  • Establish a cohesive, performing team

All team coaching packages can be tailored based on desired impact.

Sessions are preferably delivered on-site and in person.

Team Coaching Experience.

With close to 26 years experience, I have worked with leadership teams ranging from emerging leadership teams keen to learn essential leadership skills through to established leadership teams stuck in the storming phase of team formation and unable to reach their full potential to perform. Together we work on developing leadership skills and strategies to lead teams with purpose and impact.

My team coaching draws on my own experience leading big teams and whole services in small businesses, not for profit organisations and complex government agencies. I work with leadership teams through team coaching to build cohesion and collectively achieve common goals and priorities.

There are many benefits of engaging me as an external facilitator - one of the most common I see is the opportunity for senior leaders to deeply engage in sessions rather than playing the dual role of participant and facilitator. I bring a fresh perspective based on objectivity to work through complex dynamics and ongoing challenges teams can feel stuck in attempting to solve.

Team coaching allows your leadership team to come together to navigate the complexities of leadership together, define where high performance sits and how to manage where performance has fallen off.

If the culture across your organisations is adrift, I’d love to help you find a way forward.

“I leave most of our leadership team coaching sessions feeling rejuvenated and with a sense of belief in myself as a leader.

I respond to your way of delivery, taking strategies and applying them in different situations.

You make me think, you make me believe its ok to be a different type of leader and that I can continue to expand my skills.”

Creating Cohesive Teams

Team coaching is the most effective way to improve performance and achieve results. The opportunity to talk openly about challenges across teams forms stronger working relationships and cultivates a culture of peer support to help teams reach the collective goals.

Teams include:

  • leadership teams

  • project teams

  • cross functional teams, like multi-disciplinary teams

  • administration teams

When teams develop capacity together you will see participants become more confident, skilled, and productive.

My professional skills and 25 years of experience mean I can engage the most resistant teams to take significant steps forward and perform.

18 x 2-hour sessions / $45, 000.00

“I found Belinda to be extremely intuitive and able to provide assistance with anything the group threw at her. Belinda was organised and prepared for each session; however, she deviated so easily if needed.

Belinda’s handouts were such a beautiful addition to our sessions and allowed for easier reflection following each session.”

Here are examples of results achieved by leadership teams I have worked with:

  • Establishing psychological safety within the team

  • Developed effective internal communication practices, including improving meeting outcomes

  • Refining communication strategies and messaging for staff

  • Addressing long term conflict

  • Creating high trust relationships

  • Designing a collective, cohesive approach to performance

  • Enhanced capability to deliver and receive developmental feedback to improve performance in their teams

  • Identify patterns of behaviour that prevent effective decision making and design a solution

  • Identify and address skills and knowledge gaps

  • Address common experiences of stress and reduce risks of burnout.

“The unexpected gain from our team leadership coaching was learning it is ok for me to show vulnerability with our team.
Showing that making a mistake is ok and the only way to learn. Constantly showing up and being open and honest with them.”

A leadership team had been stuck in an endless cycle of conflict for years. When faced with implementing a new initiative, the team dynamics had become so dysfunctional even making the simplest decisions had become impossible.

The Shortlisted Facts

  • Various team structures and functions, including leadership teams, project teams, cross functional teams and administrative teams.

A team, by definition, is a group of people with a common goal, for example to collectively develop their leadership capabilities.

  • I would recommend in person sessions offer significantly more impact than online sessions.

  • Best practice recommends monthly sessions starting with a minimum of 2 hours.

I will recommend the length and frequency of the sessions based on the identified goals.

  • The session starts with each participant checking into the session and identifying any priorities for the session.

The group then decides together how to spend the session to ensure outcomes are clearly agreed from the beginning of the session.

Some groups prefer to map out specific topics in advance to ensure participants come prepared with this in mind. Others use a more organic approach to explore current challenges or successes before landing on the specific focus for the session.

For example, an organic approach may uncover a consistent theme across the group that may not have been clear until it was discussed as at a team coaching session.

During the session, I facilitate a discussion with the group that draws in everyone’s perspective and often includes sharing relevant experience, research or recommendations for next steps.

At the end of the session, we will have found a clear pathway forward for you. Sometimes this includes follow up support via email or scheduling a check in call or text. The group will also receive details of any references, research or resources we discussed.
